Privacy policy

Moving Lines asks for no personal data, and there are no accounts, ads or tracking. Your questions, your readings and your camera's light stay on your device. The only thing the app sends is the check for text corrections described below, and the website counts visits with Google Analytics only if you allow it.
Moving Lines and movinglines.app are made by NETTLEPIE Kft., 7621 Pécs, Apáca utca 19., Hungary, which is responsible for them under the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Write to us at:
hello@movinglines.appThe questions you seal, the readings you cast and the choices you make in Settings stay on your device. A sealed question is hashed on the device, and the question itself is never sent anywhere.
Cast with light reads a few frames from your camera in the device's memory to make each line. The frames are never recorded, saved or sent.
When you open the app, it asks Expo's update service whether a corrected version of the app's text or code is ready. The request says which version of the app you run and which recent versions failed to start, your device's operating system, and a random number made when the app was installed; after a crash while starting, it also carries a technical description of the error. It carries no name, account, device identifier or anything you wrote, but like any request on the internet it shows your IP address to Expo's servers. Expo (650 Industries, Inc., USA) keeps these requests for as long as it needs them to run its service, and from them counts for us how many installs run each version and how many fail to start; its privacy policy is at expo.dev/privacy.
movinglines.app is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). Like any web server, Vercel keeps standard logs of each visit, such as the IP address, the browser and the page's address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and keeps them no longer than it needs to; its privacy policy is at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy. Unless you allow analytics, the website sets no cookies; it remembers your answer in your browser's storage. To work offline, the website keeps a copy of its own files in your browser. The copy holds nothing about you, and clearing the site's data in your browser removes it.
Google Analytics on the website
If you allow it, the website counts visits with Google Analytics: which pages are opened, roughly where from (the country and city, worked out from your IP address, which Google does not keep), on what kind of device and browser, and how you arrived. A shared reading's address carries its code, never its question, and your questions never reach Google. It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_WRYV9F87LY, for at most 13 months. Google Ireland Limited processes this data for us, and Google LLC may process it in the USA; Google Analytics keeps it for at most 14 months. You can change your answer at any time in Settings on the website, which also deletes the cookies.
If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and your message, through our email providers. We use them only to answer you, and keep them until your question is settled and for as long as we then need a record of it; ask us, and we will delete them sooner.
The update check, the website's logs and your mail serve our legitimate interest in delivering the app's corrections and the website safely, and in answering you (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Google Analytics runs only with your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Expo, Vercel and Google process this data for us; in the USA, all three take part in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, and have it corrected, deleted or restricted, or object to its use. We hold none unless you have written to us; either way, write to us and we will answer, and ask Expo, Vercel and Google on your behalf where needed. You can withdraw your consent to Google Analytics at any time in Settings on the website; what was counted before stays lawful. You can also complain to the Hungarian data protection authority, NAIH (naih.hu).
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with its date.
