Translated from Richard Wilhelm's German (1924)
The Judgment
The taming force of the small has success.
From our western region, dense clouds but no rain.
The Image
The wind sweeps across the heavens:
the image of the taming force of the small.
So the noble one refines the outward form of their nature.
First line, nine
Return to the way. How could that be a fault? Good fortune.
Second line, nine
Letting oneself be drawn along to return. Good fortune.
Third line, nine
The spokes fly off the wagon.
Husband and wife roll their eyes.
Fourth line, six
If you are sincere, then blood disappears and fear yields.
No fault.
Fifth line, nine
If you are sincere and faithfully bound,
you are rich in your neighbor.
Top line, nine
The rain comes, and rest comes.
That is thanks to the lasting effect of character.
Persistence puts the wife in danger.
The moon is almost full. If the noble one presses on,
misfortune comes.
