Translated from Richard Wilhelm's German (1924)
The Judgment
Progress:
the strong prince is honored with horses in great numbers.
In a single day he is received three times.
The Image
The sun rises up over the earth:
the image of progress.
So the noble one makes their own clear gifts shine.
First line, six
Progressing, but turned away.
Persistence brings good fortune.
When one finds no trust, one should remain calm.
No mistake.
Second line, six
Progressing, but in sorrow.
Persistence brings good fortune.
One then receives great blessing from one's ancestress.
Third line, six
Everyone agrees. Regret vanishes.
Fourth line, nine
Progress like a hamster.
Persistence brings danger.
Fifth line, six
Regret vanishes.
Gain and loss: do not take them to heart.
Undertakings bring good fortune.
Everything is favorable.
Top line, nine
Progressing with the horns is permitted only
to punish one's own territory.
Being alert to danger brings good fortune.
No fault.
Persistence brings shame.
